When we were expecting, we were handed off a vintage crib. After we purchased Luna's vintage nursery set I felt it was just too much vintage in one room and picked up a simple more modern crib from Ikea. Turns out we're not crib parents! We co-sleep with Luna and we no longer have either crib in her room because whats the point? I sold the Ikea crib on Craigslist to a really sweet local grandpa + grandma for their visiting grandson and the vintage crib went into the basement to die.
As Luna got bigger, co-sleeping got cramped so we opted for a new cali-king sized floor bed in our bedroom. Our previous queen size went into Luna's room as a floorbed for naps, playtime, and the occasional guest. Since I'm still getting used to floorbeds I am constantly rearranging and restyling. I recently used the old crib ends to make a headboard for the queen floorbed. It was an easy afternoon project of cleaning, cutting off the legs (after stealing a saw from Travis' tool stash), spraying it white, and securing the two ends together.

That is such an awesome idea. We go-slept as well but didn't end up getting a crib to start off with. My little man has decided he wants to be in his big boys bed now but he still has his nights when he wants to cuddle up with me all night :) x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS!!!! I had to scroll through twice because you did such a good job I couldn't see the crib behind the bed :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish Judah would still co-sleep with us, as of last month the little stinker wants his own bed! Im kinda used to it. but I sure do miss his snuggles. I do get to sneak him in bed when he wakes up at 2 am for a few hour till he gets to feisty and wants back in his crib
Great project, it came out awesome!
